Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Notable pictures of Rio de Janeiro regularly incorporate milestones, for example, Sugarloaf Mountain, or the transcending sculpture, Cristo Redentor, that sits above the city. Here our shutterbug catches this rambling city in early night, from a roost on Sugarloaf Mountain. Guanabara Bay obscures to a profound indigo as Rio’s lights sparkle like little gems. Those two strings of more splendid lights sparkling right along the shore? Neither of them is lighting up the acclaimed Copacabana Beach (that extended length of sand is a couple of miles south of here), however Botafogo Beach and Flamengo Beach are both lovely playas in their own right.
