Alongside its cousins, the llama, alpaca, and guanaco, the vicuña is one of four South American camelids. (They’re identified with, you got it, camels.) And while they’re totally valued for their fleece, the vicuña brags the best strands the group of four, without a moment’s delay incredibly delicate, lightweight, and warm. Vicuña fleece is one of the most costly textures on the planet, far surpassing the expense of cashmere.
